A BUNCH OF STUFF

Man. “Skins” is over. Like, for real over.

This most recent season was disappointing. But end of season five (above) was great. Everyone happy, fucked up, crashing a party, and screaming along to a band with their new friends. That’s the sort of time “Skins” is supposed to make you wish you remembered having.

This show came along at the perfect time for me. Post-“The OC,” sophomore year of college, as-always looking to TV shows as way to understand and avoid my life. The thing was I kept meeting people and they kept showing up at my house and I’d just put on episode one of “Skins” and they’d think I was super cool. I’ve recommended it to so so many people. I’m convinced I am single-handedly responsible for its state-side popularly and subsequent MTV parody. So sorry about that.

And now it’s done and I’m old and through with college maybe even moving away and the world is ending probably, right? Right. And that’s okay.

Even Liv from “Skins” has the “Skins” app on her iPhone 4. Do you!?

One day I’ll write something about heartbreaking twentysomethings (I might call it “Heartbreaking Twentysomethings”!!!) and it’ll end really bleakly only then they’ll all break into song like the end of “Skins” series one (has the show ever topped that moment? Nope.) and it’ll be a super trendy cover of this song.

If the last Skins episode ended on this shot, I would’ve liked it a little more. Still not a lot, but at least a little more. Also, Mini’s problem would’ve been solved had the show remembered that she’s a lesbian, JUSSAYIN’

Best/Worst

The first six minutes of “Skins” was whooping. 

Here’s a better quality video of those Skins fan titles. I’ll stop talking about them now. 

Skins used video I shot in their online episode’s title sequence. You can’t watch it in American so I did an annoying proxy server thing and recorded it on my phone. So here it is until I find a better way. 

Skins title sequences are the most consistently great part of Skins so having my footage used is a pretty huge deal for me. Plus, if you wanna get nerdy about it it sort of means that alternate versions of my friends all exist in the Skins universe. But let’s not get that nerdy.

All my stuff is at the end and all of it was taken from this video I made a couple months ago. You could watch that too if you want.
