“Honestly, I’m not that fun.
Honestly, it’s a bit too far.
Odyssey, you should go.
Uneasy, I think I’ll stay home. But Jessica may go.”
This was a fun weekend (I saw Andy Dick on the street and I drank a milkshake and my pal from home visited and brought my hard drive full of tv shows I went to party full of neat people and talked about podcasts for like an hour which was sort of inexplicably amazing) but it was a weird weekend (because worlds collided and I had to meet fun new people and my friend ruined a bathroom with his blood and I was too drunk or hungover most of the time and I saw Andy Dick on the street) but today all I ate was hotdogs and pizza and next week I get to go back to Indiana for a while so that’ll be nice and weird but nice. Could be worse. My chest hurts. This song is pretty.

“Five Years” by Born Ruffians (David Bowie Cover)
This song is great. I don’t really care about David Bowie except I liked the show “Life on Mars” okay. I do care about Luke Lalonde and Born Ruffians. Maybe I’ll listen to the orignal one day.

Luke LaLonde of Born Ruffians, “I’m On Fire” (Bruce Springsteen cover)
I moved today. Or I am moving.
Right now I’m drinking in an airport in Boston and Boston has the best airports because there is free wifi. Aaanyhow I realized I hadn’t posted an obligatory “I just moved” song to my tumblr and while I have, over the years, had many songs I assumed I’d care about whenever I moved wherever it ended up being this one that has been stuck in my head.
I don’t even like Bruce Springsteen, though I guess I am in love with Luke LaLonde. But this song has no contextual relevance! No particularly poignant lyrics! And yet it’s the one I wanna share with you.
So here it is. Harry’s moving song. Wish me luck. More to the point: don’t root for me to fail.

I could never understand the lyrics to this song before I heard this version. And oh man, those lyrics. And oh man, Luke Lalonde’s charminng pre-fame acne.
-
How come I never knew Born Ruffians were on Skins? I’m an idiot. They were Skins’ Modest Mouse! Or maybe Crystal Castles were? That would make them Skins’ Rooney! Like, from The OC. Oh man. Plus, they’re a Canadian band playing at 2 AM in Brooklyn for some reason. Skins is dumb. Man, I love Skins. Man, I love Born Ruffians.
